The Role

A rare opportunity exists with the City of Greater Bendigo for an experienced climate change and sustainability practitioner who wants to have impact within a forward thinking regional City.

In this leadership role, you will coordinate the Climate Action team which facilitates emission reductions within the organisation and across the community. You will also provide expert advice on energy and emission reduction initiatives, work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders,  prepare and deliver high quality reports and identify and manage funding opportunities. 

Current projects and programs in progress within the team include the Greater Bendigo Climate Collaboration, home and business energy efficiency engagement programs, sustainable design advice, updating the organisation’s Zero Carbon Plan, preparing a Carbon Offsetting Policy and supporting expansion of public electric vehicle charging across the City.

This position is full time or part time, with flexibility to work 4 days a week.

About you

To be successful for this role you need to demonstrate a track record delivering initiatives that reduce emissions within an organisation and across the community. You will have knowledge of carbon accounting, behaviour change theories and practices and be up to date with current climate change policies and programs. You will have strong leadership skills, a solutions focused attitude, an aptitude for how to deliver results and the ability to take an initiative from idea through to completion.

You will also have strong project management skills, experience building and maintaining relationships and the ability to inspire and motivate others. 

A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
