The Role

Are you passionate about the environment, enjoy working outdoors and want to be part of a great team?

We have a great opportunity for a Parks Worker to join our Greening Greater Bendigo team. In this role you will assist in the establishment of new plantings and in the day-to-day maintenance of the City’s public open spaces. Duties include tree planting, watering, weeding, rubbish removal, pruning, herbicide spraying and mulching.

This role is based at our Adam Street Depot in Golden Square, with travel, in City vehicles, to sites across the Bendigo region. The position works a 9 days fortnight.

About You

You will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of tree establishment and open space maintenance activities and the ability to competently and safely operate a range of horticulture plant and equipment such as gardening hand tools, watering equipment, and spraying equipment. You will have a safety focus, good communication skills and the willingness and ability to work as a cooperative and effective team member.

If you have experience and qualifications in Horticulture, Arboriculture or related field, we welcome your application.

A satisfactory police records check and Working with Children Check is required for this position.

A current driver’s licence, Construction Industry Card and Chemical Handling Accreditation are mandatory with a Medium Rigid (MR) endorsement is desirable for this position.
