The Role
Are you our next curator at the Djaa Djuwima Art Gallery? Djaa Djuwima is a dedicated and permanent First Nations Gallery on Dja Dja Wurrung Country.
As our Arts Officer - First Nations, you will support First Nations artists and communities to lead, drive and develop community-led arts-based programs and initiatives on behalf of the City of Greater Bendigo.
You will drive and curate exhibitions at Djaa Djuwima, deliver the annual Knuldoorong Art exhibition and other creative programs to support creative endeavors that help achieve relevant actions of the City’s Barpangu Reconciliation Plan, Greater Creative Bendigo Strategy and Greater Bendigo Community Plan. About You
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal traditional and contemporary arts and culture, experience in curating art exhibitions, experience in the development of arts programs and initiatives and an understanding of community cultural development frameworks.
If you have relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in the arts, community development, public policy or similar discipline we welcome your application.
This is a designated Aboriginal position as covered under Section 83 of the Special Measures Provision of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act (Vic) 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply for this position.
