The role
An opportunity now exists within our Safe Environments unit for suitable experienced Senior Animal Attendant to join our team of professionals, where you will play a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of all animals in care and daily compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes and Policies as they relate to BARC and animal welfare.

You will supervise volunteers and work placement students and be an effective team player with a strong commitment to working together to achieve successful outcomes. You will be required to juggle competing work demands to meet the obligations of relevant legislation, while performing as directed by the Operations Manager.

Tasks include but are not limited to daily animal inspection and assessment, responding to customer enquiries, providing education to pet owners on responsible pet ownership, cleaning of animal housing areas, establishing and providing daily welfare requirements to animals, maintaining accurate animal records, transportation of domestic animals and administration of medication and treatment.

BARC is located at 20 Piper Lane, East Bendigo. This position requires you to work every second weekend (Saturday and Sunday) with the options of your weekdays to be negotiated to suit you and the team.

About You
You will have relevant qualifications or experience in handling and caring for domestic animals, enjoy working in a team environment, have a customer service focus with good administration, organisaiton and communication skills.

A satisfactory police records check and current employee Working with Children Check is required for this position.
