The role
Are you passionate about improving health and wellbeing outcomes for the community? Do you have an interest and experience in local food systems?
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Food Systems Officer to join the Active and Healthy Communities Unit. As our Food Systems Officer you will support the implementation of Greater Bendigo’s Food System Strategy, working collaboratively with the Lead Food Systems Officer. This will include coordinating internal and external stakeholders, supporting the delivery of actions, identifying opportunities for future actions, as well as contributing to strategy evaluation.
You will build and maintain partnerships and engage the community to ensure projects reflect and respond to local expectations. You will be responsible for scoping, developing and managing projects on time and within budget. This will include planning and creating innovative solutions to achieve relevant objectives within the Greater Bendigo Council Plan (Mir wimbul).
About You
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills and a sound understanding of the issues, challenges and opportunities relating to local food systems. Tertiary qualifications with experience in public health, nutrition, change management, policy or similar discipline is highly regarded with local government experience desirable.
A satisfactory police records check and Working with Children Check are required for this role.
This is a part time role that works 2 days a week, with one of the work days to be Monday, Tuesday or Friday.
