The Role

You will be a trusted expert that provides strategic leadership of the City’s centre-led procurement function, ensuring compliance, value for money, risk management and capability development across the organisation.

You will ensure the team has a customer service focus and delivers on procurement activities, including quotations, tenders, contract variations and purchasing transactions, in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Strategy you will provide supportive leadership and direct supervision of two employees and lead and develop the overall team of six procurement professionals.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have relevant qualifications and extensive experience in procurement, and will bring your:

  • Proven team leadership skills within a complex environment
  • Strong experience in leading and maintaining procurement governance frameworks, templates, and compliance controls
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management
  • Knowledge of contract and rick management
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative environment

This role requires a satisfactory police records check.
