The City of Greater Bendigo is in the heart of central Victoria on Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Country. Located just 90 minutes’ drive from Melbourne, our region offers all the benefits of a large city with a warm and welcoming country feel.
Greater Bendigo is an attractive region that is famous for its food and wine, and boasts the Bendigo Art Gallery, theatres, stunning heritage buildings and natural surrounds that provide great recreational opportunities. There are also high quality education and health services, a wide range of housing options, excellent rail and road networks, and Bendigo Airport has regular direct QantasLink flights to Sydney.
We provide more than 65 important services to support our community, which is heading towards a population of 200,000 by 2050. Now is a great time to join us!
The Role
As part of the collaborative and client-focused Bendigo Venues & Events team, you will contribute to the effective coordination of a wide range of events – including large-scale performances, weddings, community activities and conferences, across iconic venues such as The Capital Theatre, Ulumbarra Theatre, The Engine Room, Bendigo Town Hall, Dudley House and Djaa Djuwima gallery.
You will provide administrative support for allocated events by working closely with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure all requirements are accurately documented, details are communicated, and expectations of services are clear. Utilising event management systems, you will maintain detailed records and act as liaison for event logistics.
A diligent and team-oriented approach is essential, with a strong focus on client service, communication, and attention to detail throughout the planning process.
The position is based at The Capital Theatre, View Street, Bendigo and generally works Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
About You
You’re a detail oriented, organised, motivated, enthusiastic and team-focused administration professional. You will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working with diverse groups of people, are willing to learn and feel confident using a range of administrative and digital tools.
While an interest in the performing arts may be beneficial, your ability to manage administrative tasks accurately and efficiently is most important. You take pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and thrive in a structured, fast-paced setting.
A satisfactory Police Records Check is required for this position.
