The Role

As our Project Officer - Property (advertised as "Building Project Manager"), you're working within our Property Services Project Delivery Team.

You will ensure the effective consultation, planning and feasibility, design, documentation and delivery of approved and proposed building projects across the organisation, supporting the City’s extensive portfolio of community buildings.  This portfolio includes significant heritage buildings, community halls, sporting facility pavilions and public toilet facilities.

You will manage a variety of projects, with tasks including developing initial concept designs and financial estimates for building projects. You will also be responsible for the procurement of works and services ensuring best practice and value for money.

Current examples of projects include the construction of new public toilets at Kennington Reservoir, the remediation of extensive flood damage at the Bagshot Community Hall and undertaking a building investigation into the Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre.   

About You

This role suits a construction project manager or an experienced tradesperson coupled with formal project management qualifications who places value in strategic thinking and contributing to local community buildings.

To be successful in this role, you will have building/construction project management experience combined with an excellent understanding and awareness of current building regulations, standards and practices and OH&S.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop project scope based on understanding stakeholder needs, are key to success in the role. You will also have strong time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks with conflicting demands.

A pre-employment medical, satisfactory police records check and drivers licence are required for this position.
