The Role

Working within our Street Cleaning team, in our Resource Recovery & Education unit, you will operate street cleaning plant, which could include

    • Footpath Sweeper
    • Suction Sweeper
    • Kerbside Waste Operator

Duties include:

  • Being responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanical plant
  • Being responsible for cleaning footpaths, car parks, public areas, paths and walking paths to the required standard
  • Supporting the team with bin maintenance, cleaning brick and bluestone gutters, roundabouts, splinter islands, bus shelters, school crossings, mediums 
  • Delivering, retrieving and repairing garbage bins for residents and commercial properties
  • Ensuring plant is kept clean and maintained

Early starts will be undertaken as required. The role works a 9 day fortnight (RDO). Shifts are from 5:00am – 2:00pm weekdays (Monday - Friday) and a regular overtime roster (including Saturdays and/or Sundays and/or Public Holidays). Applicable allowances will be paid. Our depot is located in Adam Street, Golden Square.

About you

As the successful applicant, you will have a trade certificate and/or relevant knowledge and skills associated with plant operation. You will have a customer service focus, enjoy working in team environment with good communication skills. You will also have a understanding of safe work practices and OHS principles.

A current drivers license with Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement and satisfactory police records check are required for this position.
