The Role
In this senior leadership role, you will lead a team who are responsible for the maintenance and reconstruction of the civil infrastructure for the City, such as:
- Gravel road re-sheeting and resurfacing
- Sealed roads resurfacing
- Line marking
- Rapid response activities
In this varied role, you will:
- Directly supervise two team leaders, with oversight of a team of 12 staff
- Undertake effective planning and programming of both reactive and programmed works and ensure they are delivered to the required standard, within budget and required timeframes
- Lead and manage a series of capital and panel service contracts to ensure delivery of works and services is undertaken
- Manage and monitor capital and operational expenditure budgets through detailed financial analysis
- Ensure compliance of all staff and contractors with respect to OH&S legislation, risk management requirements and our policies and procedures
This is a temporary leave backfill role from 10 August 2026 to 30 October 2026 and is located at our Depot in Adam Street, Golden Square, but will travel to site across the Bendigo region. Standard work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
About You
You will bring your extensive experience and knowledge in civil construction and/or maintenance, team leadership and project management. You will have a customer service focus, ensure works are undertaken safely and are performed to a high quality, on time and to budget. You will be highly organised, have strong communication skills, financial management knowledge and enjoy working in a team environment.
This role requires a drivers licence, pre-employment medical, satisfactory police check and working with children check.
