The Role
A rare opportunity exists to join our Financial Strategy team as our Financial Accountant - Assets.
In this role, you will:
- Provide timely, relevant and accurate financial reporting, with a focus on the City’s fixed assets which includes property, plant and equipment, office furniture and equipment
- Ensure the City’s infrastructure assets are recorded correctly and reconciled between all systems
- Ensure stocktakes on asset registers are completed on a regular basis
- Working collaboratively to ensure assets, depreciation and work in progress balances are forecast accurately
- Undertake a range of monitoring, reviewing, reconciliations and reporting
About You
You will be a qualified and experienced Accountant, with CPA or CA qualification being desirable, and have experience in:
- General ledger accounting and reconciliations, including assets and infrastructure
- Knowledge and understanding in the calculation and reconciling of liabilities for financial reporting procedures
- Experience with cloud based accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Research, analytical and problem solving skills, including interpreting and applying changes in accounting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and enjoy working in a team environment
A satisfactory police check is required for this role.
