The Role

The Active & Healthy Communities unit has an essential role in improving the health and wellbeing of Greater Bendigo residents.

Reporting to the Director Healthy Communities & Environments, you will lead the team in the management and delivery of a range of high-quality policy, plans, programs and projects that are efficient, innovative and responsive to community needs.

You will ensure the unit supports organised sports clubs to provide safe and accessible facilities for their members, promotes walking, cycling and other recreational opportunities, and engages key stakeholders and the broader community in the importance of healthy eating and physical activity.

This is a 12-month, temporary parental leave backfill contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent relationship building and negotiation skills, a strong background in contract management with a passion for healthy lifestyles, and be a highly motivated, experienced, values-driven professional that will actively contribute to maintaining a positive team culture. 

You will also have high level management and leadership experience, be innovative and strategic, and have a strong record of delivering high quality services and programs. Outstanding interpersonal skills and sound financial management experience will be essential to this role.

A satisfactory Police Records Check and employee Working with Children Check are required for this position.
