The Role
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the production and maintenance of all plant and tree material including managing the growing process, monitoring daily watering regimes, fertilising programs and pest & disease identification and control at our nursery. You will also provide day to day supervision of all operational tasks and employees within our nursery operations and program, prioritise and communicate work schedules and stock inventories and maintain a safe and efficient worksite.
You will be also be responsible for the supervision and operational management of all tasks and employees within the Amenity Landscapes team, which encompasses the CBD and Streetscapes Parks Workers.
This role generally, works Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4pm with a 9 day fortnight and is based at our Nursery on Mackenzie Street West, Golden Square with travel required to other sites.
About You
To be successful in this varied position, you will have relevant qualifications and experience in intensive horticulture or park management with skills, knowledge and experience within the public park maintenance industry.
You will have excellent knowledge of plants; including native, exotic, perennial, annual, weed species, ability to safely use a range of plant and machinery, have a good understanding on maintenance best practice and ability to maintain a safe workplace.
You will have leadership experience, enjoy working in a team environment and have excellent communication and time management skills.
A satisfactory police records check and current drivers licence are required for this position.
