The Role
We are seeking a Park Ranger to join our Natural Reserves team. In this role you will undertake an outdoor works program to effectively maintain and sustainably develop a variety of reserves, open spaces and linear creek networks.
You will also:
- undertake all day to day parks maintenance functions including inspections, rubbish removal and infrastructure repair
 - conduct chemical, mechanical and manual control of weeds
 - implement revegetation plans including planting, fertilising, mulching, weeding, watering, collecting and storing seeds of indigenous plants
 - safely and competently use a range of tools including chainsaws, hand mowers, brush cutters, spray equipment and power tools.
 
The position includes a 9 day working fortnight (fortnightly RDO) and is based at the City’s Nursery, Mackenzie Street West, Golden Square where you will travel out to site to service the City of Greater Bendigo area.
About You
You will have knowledge of indigenous flora and fauna with the ability to identify and control a range of pest plant and animals. You will also have an understanding of natural environment, biodiversity principles and sustainable land management techniques.
You will have good communication skills, enjoy working in a team environment and have knowledge of safe work practices with the ability to use a range of plant and equipment.
A satisfactory police records check and a current driver’s licence (manual preferred) are required for this position. Farm Chemical Users certificate is desirable.
