The Role

In this role you will assist in the production and maintenance of plant material for the requirements of the Parks & Open Space Unit to ensure the availability of quality plant material including general maintenance duties, pruning, potting, relocation of plant material, propagation and maintaining plant hygiene.

You will also assist with planning and preparation of floral and plant-based displays for various events and activities.

This position works at our Nursery in Kangaroo Flat with some travel out to site within the Greater Bendigo region.

Work days are Monday – Friday from 7.30am to 4.30pm with a 9-day fortnight with every second Monday as an RDO.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have qualifications, skills and experience in working in a Nursery environment or Horticulture, with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of nursery maintenance activities and the ability to apply quality control techniques.

You will have an understanding of OH&S practices and maintaining a safe worksite, good communication skills and the ability to work as a cooperative and effective team member with a strong focus on customer service.

A current driver’s licence, Farm Chemical Users certificate and satisfactory police check are required for this position.
