  • Band 5, Starting salary $78,811 (Pro rata) plus superannuation

The Role

Established in 1887, Bendigo Art Gallery is one of the largest regional galleries in Australia. The core of the Gallery’s charter is to collect, house and preserve works of art and provide access and education for the community.

As our Education Officer, you will join the team that develops and facilitates a range of programs that extend creativity and learning at the Gallery.

You will undertake a range of duties including:

  • Develop and facilitate a range of education and public programs to a variety of audiences including early years, schools and adults
  • Research and deliver learning programs for schools and learning institutions in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum as well as oversees the school holiday and family programs
  • Promote learning and public programs for the Gallery by producing text and design ideas for the website, social media, press releases, brochures and learning kits for distribution to targeted groups

About You

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Have qualifications and experience in teaching, preferably in visual arts
  • Have knowledge of current arts education programs, practices and Victorian school curriculum
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Have a customer service focus and enjoy working in team environment

A satisfactory police check, working with children check and drivers licence is required for this position.
