The Role
In this busy role as our Coordinator Construction, you will effectively lead our Works civil construction teams, and contractors, in the construction and reconstruction of civil infrastructure for the City of Greater Bendigo. The type of projects undertaken include road reconstruction, CBD footpath paving projects, road safety work, drainage and other essential civil infrastructure projects.
You will lead the development and maintenance of the program of civil construction and reconstruction within the unit including undertaking contract management, project management and community engagement. You will ensure that all projects are completed as per the scope, in the required timeframes and to budget.
With a focus on safety and OH&S, you will provide supportive team leadership and direction to a team of approximately 20 staff and contractors.
The role works primarily Monday to Friday 7.00am – 4pm at our Depot in Golden Square – but will travel to sites across the Bendigo region. As start and finish on the job will be required from time to time a commuter use vehicle is provided for the role.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have extensive experience and knowledge of civil construction and maintenance, have strong project management skills, be a demonstrated supportive leader with excellent communication skills, together with knowledge of financial management.
If you have strong experience in a similar role and /or formal qualifications in civil engineering or project management in civil construction we welcome your application.
A drivers licence, satisfactory police check and employee working with children check are required for this position.
