The Role

Are you passionate about the environment and looking for a rewarding job working outdoors?

In this varied role, you will ensure the City’s Parks and Gardens are maintained to a high standard while promoting a positive image of the City.

You will:

  • Assist with implementing daily horticulture maintenance requirements
  • Undertake all other general maintenance as required, including but not limited to, mowing, weeding, rubbish and litter removal, edging, herbicide spraying and irrigation system maintenance
  • Assist in the design, preparation and implementation of floral displays

This role is based at our Adam Street Depot in Golden Square, with travel, in City vehicles, to sites across the Bendigo region. The position works a 9 days fortnight from 7am – 4 pm Monday – Friday.

All tools, equipment and PPE is provided.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated knowledge and experience in horticulture and undertaking park maintenance activities
  • Demonstrated experience in the safe operation of a variety of plant and equipment
  • The ability to work as an effective team member
  • A strong customer service focus
  • Good communication skills

A satisfactory police records check, drivers licence and Chemical Handling Accreditation is required for this position.
