The Role
The Community Connections team works with community members across all life stages in Greater Bendigo. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic person who enjoys celebrating the diversity and contributions of young people.
In this varied role, you will lead the development and implementation of initiatives, programs, projects and events that promote the engagement, participation, inclusion and development of young people and the wider community in Greater Bendigo. You will also manage volunteers and contribute to the development, review and implementation of strategies, policies and plans that impact young people.
The role supports the delivery of the Amplify program and provides opportunities like BendiGLOW and Battle of the Bands for young people to enjoy and participate in music, cultural, recreational and artistic events.
This position is 4 days a week with flexibility on which days are worked. Some evening and weekend work required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a genuine passion for empowering young people and substantial experience in planning, implementing and evaluating youth specific community development activities, programs, projects and events, experience in youth or community development sectors, event management experience together with skills in promotions and social media. You will have strong communication and relationship building skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
Qualification in Social Science, Community Development or similar discipline will be highly regarded.
A satisfactory police check, employee Working with Children Check and drivers licence is required for this position.
