The Role

The City of Greater Bendigo is introducing an exciting new position for a passionate and experienced Animal Shelter professional to join our team as our Team Leader at the Bendigo Animal relief Centre (BARC).

This role will oversee the delivery of facility operations with a particular focus on:

  • Reuniting and rehoming animals
  • Ensuring essential care is provided to all animal within the shelter environment
  • Supervision of Animal Attendants, Vet Nurse, volunteers and foster care activities

About You

You are a passionate and committed animal shelter professional with qualifications or experience in the handling and care of domestic animals within the shelter environment.

Your skills include:

  • The ability to lead and supervise teams to achieve required outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Maintaining high quality written and electronic records 
  • Communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Delivering excellent customer service in line with the City’s Customer Service Charter
  • Enjoy working in a busy, team environment

A satisfactory Police Record Check, Working with Children Check, and a current Victorian driver’s licence are required for this position.

This role requires availability for weekdays and weekends between the hours of 8am - 4:30pm Monday to Saturday and 9am - 1pm Sunday.
