The Role

In this new position, you will:

  • Enhance and maintain the organisation’s cyber security posture by proactively monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and implementing best-practice security measures
  • Support the protection of council data, infrastructure, and services from cyber threats
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • Support cyber security awareness initiatives, including training and campaigns to promote a strong security culture across the organisation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in IT, cyber security or similar
  • Experience in monitoring and analysing security alerts and events using SIEM platforms and endpoint protection tools to identify, assess, and respond to potential threats
  • The proven ability to undertake incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery, with clear documentation and communication throughout the process
  • Strong capability in gathering, analysing, and applying threat intelligence from internal and external sources to proactively identify and mitigate emerging cyber threats
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a team environment

A satisfactory police check is required for this position.
