The Role

In this role you will lead and manage a team in the maintenance and planning of all City owned tree assets, develop high standard management and maintenance programs and provide arboriculture expertise throughout the asset life cycle.

Provide strategic direction, develop and review policy, service levels and standards in regard to arboriculture practices and urban tree assets, as well as the implementation of the Greener Greater Bendigo strategic objective.

This position will be primarily based our Adam Street Depot in Golden Square where you will work closely with other units within the City.

About You

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and comprehension in tree management, urban forestry, environmental management and ability to identify and assess flora and fauna.

You will have the ability to provide leadership and direction to a diverse team of Arboriculture & Urban Forest team supporting the City’s urban tree operations. Skills in stakeholder management, project management and budgeting.

If you hold formal qualifications in Arboriculture or have specialist Local Government experience, we welcome your application.

A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
