The role

Working within our Legal Services team, you will provide accurate and timely legal advice and advocacy to the organisation on a broad range of legal matters with a particular focus on planning (statutory and strategic planning), litigation, dispute resolution, prosecution and compliance work.

As an experienced Lawyer, you will represent the City at tribunal and court hearings, as well as review and draft complex correspondence, court and tribunal documents and contracts. You will also lead the team that delivers the City’s  infringement review function.

About You

To be successful in this new position, you will be a qualified lawyer with substantial legal experience across a range of relevant legal practice areas including experience in planning law, the ability to provide effective advocacy for clients in a court or tribunal setting and the ability to support the effective delivery of compliance or administrative review functions. You will have team leadership experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.

A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
