The Role 

Our Customer Engagement & Communications unit ensures Council and the organisation communicates and engages effectively with the community, provides high-quality advice to Council, the Executive and staff, and takes a customer-first approach.

Reporting to the Director Corporate Performance, you will lead this newly formed unit to deliver its key functions including communications and media management, online community engagement via the Let’s Talk Greater Bendigo platform and customer service.

In this varied role, you will also develop and lead the implementation of a contemporary Customer Experience Strategy for the City, and the strategic review of communications and engagement activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have a commitment to delivering excellent customer service and extensive relevant management experience that supports high performance.

You will have strong communication, relationship building and negotiation skills, and a focus on continuous improvement and service delivery. You will also have knowledge and experience in project management, managing a budget, policy and strategy development.
