The role
As our Coordinator Healthy Communities, you will:
- Lead and coordinate policy development, strategic planning and supporting initiatives focused on population health approaches to improving community health and wellbeing
- Advocate for and facilitate ‘health in all policies’ approaches, both internally and externally, and in alignment with Council Plan 2025 – 2029 goals and priorities
- Lead and support a team of approximately 10 staff - Health Brokers and Team Leaders
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships, both internally and externally, to ensure policy positions, strategic plans and linked initiatives support community members to lead healthy lives
This is a temporary parental leave backfill contract.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualifications in health promotion, public health, community development or similar
- Demonstrated capabilities in leading collaborative approaches and driving change to address population health priorities
- Ability to develop evidence-informed business cases and linked resourcing and advocacy proposals
- Demonstrated capability to engage in strategic negotiation and effectively influence outcomes through persuasive communication
- Ability to build relationships and partnerships and foster collective impact
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including experience in preparing and presenting high quality written and verbal reports and use of social marketing
